The current benchmark heavy-duty fuel cell system
BZA150 is our current-generation fuel cell system for heavy-duty long-haul trucks, already in use on public roads today. It has been tested under the hardest conditions, set a world record, and demonstrates that cellcentric fuel cell systems fully perform in the demanding environment of heavy-duty applications.

Designed and tested to meet the needs of heavy-duty applications
BZA150 is the current generation of efficient fuel cells for long-haul heavy-duty trucks. Mercedes-Benz GenH2 and NextGenH2 trucks, as well as Volvo Fuel Cell Electric trucks, are on public roads today with outstanding customer feedback. The system has been successfully tested at high altitudes and around the Arctic Circle. These achievements prove that cellcentric fuel cell systems can fully perform in the demanding environment of heavy-duty applications. A total of five different companies are testing hydrogen fuel cell trucks from Daimler Truck, and initial feedback and test results are exceptional.

A field-proven foundation
BZA150 is not just a concept. It is already in operation on public roads. Having successfully completed hundreds of thousands of kilometers in extreme real-world conditions, from the freezing Arctic Circle to the intense heat of southern Spain and heavy-duty alpine crossings at the Brenner and Simplon passes, this system provides the empirical validation that underpins our next-generation technology. Fleet operators benefit from mature, stable and highly reliable technology.

The 1,047 kilometer hydrogen record run
We are convinced of the efficiency and reliability of our fuel cell system. That is why, together with Daimler Truck, we organized the #HydrogenRecordRun. A fully loaded 40-ton Mercedes-Benz GenH2 truck drove from Wörth am Rhein to Berlin under real-world driving conditions on public roads, reaching 1,047 kilometers on a single filling of 80 kg of liquid hydrogen. This historic milestone demonstrates that hydrogen and fuel cell systems are highly efficient solutions for demanding long-haul transport.

Proven in the field, scaling for the future
Our BZA150 fuel cell system is being used for test runs around the world. Five different companies are testing hydrogen fuel cell trucks from Daimler Truck, and initial feedback and test results are exceptional. In September 2025, Daimler Buses launched the Setra S517 HD H2 Coach, a hydrogen fuel cell electric touring coach powered by two cellcentric BZA150 systems, delivering zero-emission long-distance travel with a minimum range of 800 km. Real-world performance is the most important factor, and what we are seeing from operators confirms that our systems are ready for scale.
On-road testing in the toughest conditions demonstrates system maturity and readiness

Touring the Alps with hydrogen
Fully loaded with 40 tons, cellcentric fuel-cell-powered trucks demonstrate their extraordinary capabilities and reliable performance on public roads in the Swiss Alps.

Testing across extreme climate zones
Volvo Trucks tests hydrogen-powered trucks with cellcentric fuel cell systems under extreme environmental conditions – from the freezing cold Arctic Circle to the intense heat of southern Europe.

The successor: BZA375
Building directly on the proven foundation of BZA150, BZA375 is our next-generation heavy-duty fuel cell system. It delivers up to 375 kW of continuous net power, 20% lower fuel consumption, 40% less complexity and 40% higher power density. BZA375 is the system that makes fuel cells commercially competitive for the full spectrum of heavy-duty applications.
