Lars Ljungström appointed cellcentric Managing Director (CFO)

Kirchheim/Teck - cellcentric, the 50:50 fuel cell joint venture of Daimler Truck and the Volvo Group, announces a change in its management board. In August 2026, Lars Ljungström enters the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Managing Director.
Ljungström brings many years of experience in various leadership roles in Sweden and the United States. Most recently, Lars Ljungström served as Vice President of Strategy & Business Development at Volvo Penta North America.
Over the past 20 years, Ljungström has held various positions in the U.S. - primarily within business units of the Volvo Group - that are closely related to his responsibilities as Chief Financial Officer at cellcentric. Vital steps in his career paths include CFO positions at Volvo Penta of the Americas, GKN Aerospace, Volvo Group Trucks Operations of the Americas and Volvo Aero Connecticut LLC.

In his new position as Managing Director and CFO, Lars Ljungström will succeed Niklas Ekström who leaves cellcentric end of July 2026 and moves back to his family in Sweden. Niklas will start as CFO for the Manufacturing Intelligence division within the Hexagon Group.
